The sun still wasn't cooperating on Thursday, so Auntie Chrissy brought out the paints for an art session.
Surprisingly most of the paint ended up on the paper!
Then there were some wagon rides...
(I didn't get a picture of it, but Wes just HAD to pull the wagon, and he gave all the kids a pretty good ride. The gentle slope of the camp ground helped a little :)

(do you notice anything wrong with this picture??? No one else did either until Mike came back about 15 minutes later and pointed it out to me! No bike helmet on this kid!!! Mike said they were going over some rocky spots in the road and all of a sudden he remembered. I even put on his beanie, gave him a kiss and took this picture! Safety first mommy!!!)

That night we had our All-Family pulled pork dinner feast. It was more impromptu this year, but just as delicious. We were strong-armed into making mac-n-cheese again this year, but it was so worth it! Mike's mac-n-cheese is the best!
Each family contributed a dish and we had pulled pork, beans, mac-n-cheese, coleslaw, corn, watermelon and salad. Such a fun meal all together!
For dessert Mike made coconut ice cream and I made a fresh peach melba pie and a fresh strawberry pie.
The sun finally decided to come out for sunset, kind of annoying, but totally worth the wait!
Friday:
Our reservation was up Friday morning, so we packed it all up and headed out of town around 11:30. We stopped at Reynaldo's for a tamale and burrito lunch and a couple of mexican cookies. We love our annual week in Carpinteria, what a great vacation!
