Taking the Trolley!

Auntie Chrissy had mentioned taking the kids on the free Laguna Beach trolley and on July 17th, we made a fun day of it!  We met at Auntie Chrissy's house in Dana Point and then walked down the street to the trolley stop in front of the Ritz.  We had poor timing because the trolley says it runs every 20 minutes and we waited for exactly 20 minutes, so we must have just missed one.  But the kids did pretty well waiting and were so excited once the trolley arrived!

The boys and their sisters, ready to head out!

 Entertaining themselves.
Finally...
 ...all aboard!

We rode the trolley all the way to main beach and made our first stop the ice cream shop for a treat.  Vanilla frozen yogurt in a chocolate dipped and sprinkle covered cone...best morning snack ever!

Then we walked across the street to the playground at the beach and played for a while to work off that ice cream!
An attempt at a group shot.
It was close to lunchtime when we headed back and, again, we must have just missed a trolley and waited for a while, but we had a nice ride back to Auntie Chrissy's house and the kids thoroughly enjoyed their trolley ride!

And as a bonus treat, Mike and Kevin, who were playing golf while we were doing our trolley ride, took the kids when we got back, fed them lunch, and took them home for naps so Chrissy and I could have some girl time!  We actually took the trolley, which we had perfect timing for this time!, back down to Laguna and had lunch and some delicious mojitos at Rooftop.  We had a perfect table overlooking the water and the lunch and adult conversation were just what we needed!  Unfortunately by the time we were headed back around 3:00 the streets of Laguna were packed, and the trolleys were way behind.  I think we waited almost 40 minutes and then the trolley was jammed packed with teenagers, but all-in-all we had a great day!
