Since the weather in Southern California has been quite odd this winter (cold, warm, cold, warm) we thought we missed our chance to go play in the snow. But we had a couple of very cold days and rain so our mountains got one last dose of snow. We had a busy week last week, but we were able to squeeze in a quick day trip up to Big Bear!
We drove to my parents time share, where they have some great built in hills, to do some sledding.
Wesley loved the sledding, but he did not like walking in the snow! We weren't sure if it was his snow boots or the actual snow, but he wasn't a huge fan. If you remember from last years trip, he wasn't a big fan then either!
Since Wes wouldn't put on his gloves (little kid snow mittens are so cute) we were lucky to find this pre-built snowman! All we had to do was embellish it with some sunglasses :)
I love this picture! It reminds me of the picture from last year where he's feeling the snow!
This kid cracks me up! We have no idea why he decided to stick out his tongue for this picture!
Wes was perfectly content to stand on this rock and not in the snow. He was very proud of the pine cone he found too.
Mickey has become Wes' favorite take along companion recently. Wes always wants Mickey to do the same thing he's doing...hammering at his tool bench, zooming cars, or reading his books. I've been running up and down the stairs at home recently because "mi-ee" always seems to be down stairs when were up or upstairs when were down. It's a lot of work keeping track of him!
When we were done playing in the snow, we stopped at the Bear Belly Deli for a delicious lunch. We'll definitely be back there! But while we were eating, the tractors and snow plays just happened to start plowing the road right outside the deli! Wes was in heaven, and we thought it was pretty darn cool too.
